Julia Morgan, Architect To Town & Gown

Self Guided Building Tour

The Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association (BAHA) is proud to

present a special self-guided building tour on the afternoon of

Sunday, November 18, from 12 noon to 4 PM. “Julia Morgan, Architect To

Town & Gown” showcases the work of the 1894 UC Berkeley graduate and

includes three Julia Morgan private homes (now used as student living

groups), the Berkeley City Club, and two buildings on the UC Berkeley

campus–monumental Hearst Gymnasium for Women which Morgan designed

with Bernard Maybeck, and the century-old rustic Girton Hall, built as

a senior women’s clubhouse.   Tickets are $25 for the general public,

and include a tour booklet with maps and information on some 30 Morgan

designed buildings on or near the UC Berkeley campus.  Rain or shine.

LOCATION: Tour headquarters and ticket sales at 2318 Durant Avenue,

across from the Berkeley City Club.

FOR MORE INFORMATION:  http://www.berkeleyheritage.com/  Tickets may

be purchased on line, by mail, or in person on the day of the tour.
