Julia Morgan designed three major buildings that incorporated architectural terra cotta from Gladding, McBean: The 3 buildings are: San Francisco Examiner, Post-Enquirer in Oakland and the Methodist Chinese Mission in San Francisco.  The exhibit will feature photos and correspondence in the State Library’s Gladding McBean archive that reveals a fascinating and sometimes tense relationship between architect and contractor. This will be supplemented by rare photos and architectural periodicals highlighting her career.
