“Julia Morgan : Architecture for Sustainability” written by Sandhya Sood was commissioned by Julia Morgan 2012 and is the first publication by a practicing architect that evaluates Julia Morgan’s sustainable designs and their relevance today. Sandhya Sood is an award winning architect, certified green building professional and Principal of Accent Architecture+Design based in the SF bay area. She has a Master’s in Architecture from UC Berkeley and is a contributing author of ‘Le Corbusier, Chandigarh and the Modern City’. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the San Francisco and Berkeley Architectural Heritage Associations.
A project of Landmarks California, a collaboration of many preservation organizations statewide, Julia Morgan 2012 Festival celebrates in the fall of 2012, the remarkable legacy of California’s pioneering woman architect, Julia Morgan. The Festival aims to increase awareness of the many positive impacts of historic preservation, including environmental sustainability, economic revitalization and the development of a sense of place and belonging that can strengthen our social fabric.
